New summer update for the SKYTRAXX 5
We are pleased to present our latest summer update for the SKYTRAXX 5!
This update brings some exciting new features that will make your flight experience even safer and more comfortable.
Wildlife protection zone monitoring
From now on, your SKYTRAXX 5 will automatically warn you about wildlife protection zones. These zones are sensitive and should be avoided out of respect for nature and wildlife. With this new function, you will be warned in good time and can adjust your flight path accordingly.
Improved GNSS reception
Another highlight of the update is the improvement of the GNSS reception. You can now count on even more precise position data and a more stable connection, even in challenging environments. This means even more safety and accuracy for you when navigating.
Revised and improved FANET radar screen
The FANET radar screen has been comprehensively revised and enormously improved. The display is now much clearer and more user-friendly. You can now more easily recognize other pilots in your area and plan your flight route accordingly. This optimization provides more clarity and increases your safety in the airspace.
FLARM Tester - Safety at the touch of a button
With the new FLARM test function you can now check whether your SKYTRAXX FLARM is working properly within a radius of 25 meters.
Glider tracking from autumn
We are already working on the next exciting function: In autumn you will have the option of displaying gliders and helicopters in FLARM reception. This option will be available as a paid upgrade and will help you cooperate even better with other pilots in the airspace.
No TEC - A conscious decision
We would like to inform you about our decision on the subject of TEC (Total Energy Compensation). After numerous tests, we found that TEC without trueairspeed sensor is mainly useful in straight flight, but leads to major errors when turning. In addition, many parameters would have to be set, which calls into question its usefulness. We have therefore decided not to implement TEC for the time being. However, if we develop a true airspeed sensor in the future, we will consider TEC again.
